1 3 8. THAT Mr. Ward N. Madison be appointed as Associate Secretary to Mr. Liim at a salary of $5000 and moving expense from Richmond, Va., to Philadelphia, of $500. 9. THAT Mr. Lumts salary, having been continued in full for one year from the date of his retirement through illness to the end of November 1946, be fixed at $2750, or half salary, for six months from the first of December 1946, after which time the Finance Commi'tee shall review the whole situation and he given the power to act; that the Trustees assure Mr. Lum of their readiness to restore him to his former status whenever and as his health conditions permit his assuming full duties; that for the present year the Trustees carry thwo-thirds of his medical expenses; that in reference to the Pension plan with the Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada the usual annual payment of $178.34 be continued and that Mr. Lum's expenses be chargeable to the Philadelphia budget. 10. THAT the Power of Attorney issued previously to permit Dr. Watson to receive in the name of the University lands in Fgypt held by Dr. Cleland be cancelled, and that, with necessary technical changes to conform to legal practices in Egypt, the neces-sary Power of Attorney for the transference of the lands belonging to the American University at Cairo from the name of Dr. Wendell Cleland to Mr. Harlan D. Conn as representing the University offici, lly, be executed and sent to Egypt as follows: WHEREAS The American University at Cairo is the owner of certain properties in Egypt consisting of agricultural land of approximately ninety-eight acres situated in the village of Talbia and Konzyissa in Giza Markaz, Giza Province, legal titles to which exist in the name of William Wendell Cleland as an individual but who holds the same as trustee for The American University at Cairo; WHEREAS The American University at Cairo desires to have the legal title to said lands transferred from the said William Wendell Cleland to The American University at Cairo; THERFFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT William Wendell Cleland, holder of the said legal titles be authorized and directed to execute and deliver to The American University at Cairo the legal titles to said property; kN') BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT Harland D. Conn is hereby duly authorized to receive the said lands on be'hlaf of The American University at Cairo and to sign on behalf of The American University at Cairo the deed or deeds of transfer thereof.
