Appendix E presents the Investment Review of the Endowment Funds am prepared by the Union National Bank of Pittsburgh, dated June 15, 1947. Recommendations 1. THAT action be taken by the Board of Trustees to record our sense of profound gratitude to Dr. Watson for his untiring labors on behalf of the University, both as President and more recently as Acting Secretary; that his prophetic vision and statesmanlike guidance be properly memorialized by naming a suitable building on the new campus in his honor; that he be invited and expected to attend meetings of the Board, with expenses paid; also any committee meeting on invitation of its Chairman; that he be urged, to the exclusion of all else, to proceed with the preparation of a complete history of the University, its part in relationships between Christians and moslems, and especially his interpretation of its purpose, its importance in the world today, and its future; that any expenses he may incur, such as travel and secretarial assistance, be paid; and that A.U.C. files and records be made available to him for 'this underttking. 2. THAT the audit of the Treasurer's accounts for 1946-47 made by Barrow, Wade, Guthrie and Company, Certified Public Accountants of Phila-delphia, bv approved and filed. 3. THAT Barrow, Wade, Guthrie and Co., Certified Public Accountants of Philadelphia, Pa., be appointed to audit the books of the Treasurer in America for 1947-48. 4. THAT the Report of the Bursar for 1946-47 which has been properly audited by Price, Waterhouse, Peat and Co., Certifiea Public Accountants of Cairo, Egypt, be approved and filed. 5. THAT Price, Waterhouse, Peat and Co., Certified Public Accountants of Cairo, Egypt, be appointed to audit the Bursar1 s accounts for 1947-48. 6. THAT Dr. Badeau's plan to return to America in 1948-49 for furlough and extensive promotion be approved with the understanding that he and his family would come in the summer of 1948, remaining here about six months or until February or March 1949. 7. THAT the Trustees express their sincere appreciation to the officers and committees of the Board, to its legal advisers, and to all other friends for their loyal cooperation in the work of the University during the past year.
