There are times when we have been greatly pleased with our selection of teachers for the staff in Cairo and there are other times when they have failed to measure up to the high standard set by the University. It is most encouraging to see the increasing nunber of our former teachers winning places of leadership in American life. This year one of our former faculty members has been selected President of an American College. It would see.: to be fitting and proper that this Board of Trustees prepare a resolution congrat-ulating William A. Eddy, formerly professor of English in our University, upon his election to the Presidency of Hobart College, an honor justly deserved. PRINTED MATTER Included in our printed matter for the past year was a small leaflet on bequests. It is planned to issue another larger booklet on this same subject. As has been indicated before, a study of the successful colleges and universities reveals the fact that the major part of their capital gifts has come through bequests. Most universities, hospitals and organizations publish an annual report. Ile have never done this but it is nay suggestion that this year such a report be printed. The suggestion is that it center around the President's report and include enrollment by departments, a balance sheet, list of invest-ments, and other statistical material generally given in reports of this kind. A . new University Prayer Calendar has been prepared for the college year 1936-37. This is distributed not only to our Prayer Circle, but to many other friends who have expressed P desire to share in the successes and the difficult-ies of our institution. It is our purpose to make this an effective present-ation of the aims and spirit of our work. CONCLUSION We have dug these holes and carried these bricks during the past year, and we are more conscious than ever before that we are building a great cathedral, -- the American University at Cairo.
