(b) teachers in Government or bonified private schools. (c) Moslems. Of the total 29 students enrolled 17 continued their studies through-out the year. The 12 students who left us at the end of the first semester either were unable to cope with the amount of work or v:ere simply disheartened by their failure to satisfy their examiners. It must be mentioned here that most of the students of leachers' College are able to pursue their course only at a great sacrifice, due to the fact that they are burdened with work in their on schools and also because of the distances they have to travel letween their schools, their homes and our premises. Itis with great pride that we mention the result of soi.ie lengthy negot-iations between one of our ;ratuates, Tayeb, and the University of Edinburgh. Tayeb who is an Arabic teacher of one of the schools of the Ministry of Ed-ucation has been able to secure from the above mentioned university a state-ment by which his B.A. in education is recognized in Edinburgh and consequently he has been accepted as a candidate for a Ph.D. The announcement of this fact has been a greet incentive to our students. Some of them have been thinking seriously of availing themselves of the opportunity of completing their studies in Edinburgh. One of them has already changed his former plans in order to carry out this new idea. "e hope that Tayeb would actually go to Scotland and create a. precedence along this line. Another gratifying matter worth mentioning is the fact thr.t the progressive model school administered by the Ministry of Lducation at Giza sent us two of its teachers who enrolled with us. It may be remembered that Tayeb had been transferred to that school two years ago, because the luiinistry realized then that he was our student and therefore he was fittest to teach in a new progressive school, following the Project Method. It is also gratifying to know that the two students referred to hold a diploma from the new Institute of Pedagogy. Ve were afraid that graduî.tes of that Institute would not dream of coming to us since it is thought to be the latest development in a teachers' institution as designed by Prof. Claparede. There is no doubt that we are cooperating with the Institute of Pedagogy, although unofficially. There is always a string of students sent by their prof-essors to obtain information, advice or material about their theses. On the other hand we ask these professors to contribute to our magazine.
