1 47 10 were members of the A.U.C. staff, <3 were from the C.M.S. It is significant that 23 enrollments were o`' students not connected with any mission. Here a most encouraging fact is to be recorded. Due to negotiations started on the field and followed up by a personal visit to Tashington, D.C., trie State Depart-ment has agreed to ;bake use of this School for those in consular service, who are to be assigned a special study of Arabic. Thile this may not represent any great accession of students, it is a high tribute both to the facilities provided by our School and to the strategic importance of Cairo €a.; an intellect-ual center for the /.rabic-speaking world.
