"B" Descriptive Staff assignments: The staff for the past year has consisted of the Director, Mr. Dwinell, nanraEff. Rizq, Mr. Hornstein, typist, Ghali Eff. Amin, Clerk, and (until the first of December when he was transferred to the School of Oriental Studies) Ibrahim Costi as typist. Assuming a 39 hour working week, the Director's time has been divided thus - Extension administration, 23 hours; teaching in College, 8; Council corniaittees, 2; Lecture programs, 4; Study and reading of Arabic Press, 2. From September 1 to January 31, at least two hours per day were occupied with Oriental Hall. Mr. Dwinell carried throughout the year, a two hour teaching program in the college (i.e. 4 hours work) . After the first of November, following his fourth language examination, he took over the radio lectures as his chief assignment, on which he has fully reported. He carried as well the secretarial work of the staff conferences. Hanna Eff. was assigned the work of the lecture bureau (advertising, correspondence, registration and issuance of tickets, and all physical arrangements), as well as the rather heavy tas' of reading the Arabic press daily for significant articles. In addition he looked after the literature distribution and edited the book on "Modern Egyptian Civilization". Ghali Jiff. was entirely occupied with the lecture and radio bureaus and the mailing of the Journal of Modern Education. Mr. Hornstein did stile typing for the Division, as well as a considerable amount for Drs. McClenaha.n and Watson. The heavy task of typing the Arabic radio lectures fell upon Ibrahim Eff. light part of the Extension work is the large number of interviews with the public, which falls upon all except the typists, and it must be reme-bered that Oriental interviews are not usually short and concise. The results of the Extension work have been due, not so much to the staff itself, as to the excellent cooperation of 86 others, as lecturers, ushers, committee workers, etc. To all of these, and especially to Dr. McClenahan who has given unstintedly of his time, goes all the credit for whatever measure of success has been achieved, A.U.C. Extension, it is hoped, will continue to be an example of community service through the whole-hearted cooperation of marry of its menibers.
