The commercial real estate investment market in Finland developed remarkably due to the international investors and presently the development continues. Simultaneously, the commercial mortgage lending developed in Finland. The main objective of this study is to discuss how well the commercial mortgage lending banks in Finland have survived in the turbulence after the credit crunch and to map out possible pitfalls in the market. The literature part of the study started with background information regarding real estate finance and then the credit crunch is dealt with.
