The estimated capital cost of the Delta Peripheral Canal is $70,000,000, with an annual OM&R cost, including power, of $800,000. This facility should be authorized for Federal construction with appropriate financial participation by the State of California. Further development of water in Central Valley Basin and increased diversions from the Delta, either for use in southern California or within the Central Valley, also expands the urgency for the Kellog Unit to offset adverse effects which may occur to water supplies relied upon by Contra Costa County.
