Add to ORKGRosetta was the daughter of Edward Lovell Dwyer, R.N. and Elizabeth Blay. She arrived in the Territory in June 1884, sailing on the Taiwan. It is not known what brought Rosetta to the Territory, but six months later she was married to Fairfax Finniss, a 25 year old customs clerk. Together they had four children. Rosetta began making a name for herself as a competent public speaker very soon after her first child was born. She was a frequent performer at the Literary and Debating Society and took leading rolls in the Society, and also the Church of England. She later became a founding member of the Victoria League.
