Aron was employed by the Northern Territory Civil Service. In a postcard sent to a local friend, he claimed to be the first man from Darwin at the front (Northern Territory Times and Gazette). He served on the Western Front with the 3rd (The King's Own) Hussars, a cavalry regiment of the British Army. Aron was born in 1871 at Emerald Hill, Victoria, son of Maurice and Minnie Miriam (nee Simeon). By 1890, he was living in England with his father and siblings and was employed as a shipping clerk.
