We will be happy to assist you with your requirements I TOWN OF MAGRATH INFORMATION BULLETIN Building Permit Regulations It is important for all residents of the Town of Magrath to know that almost all construction or development in Magrath re­quires the owner to secure a building per­mit before they start. This permit can be obtained at the Town Office after the application form has been filled out and all requirements are satisfied. The following activities do not require a building permit: a. concrete or asphalt driveways, sidewalks and patios (exclud­ing roof), b. fences less than 6% ft. high, c. one portable tool shed per lot, maximum size of shed 10'xl2'. d. interior renovat­ions that do not affect the existing use, appearance or exterior dimensions of the dwelling. Any building activity not listed above requires a permit. If in doubt please con­tact the Town Office. Some important points to remember be­fore you start building and before you apply for the permit are: 1. All construction must comply with the Alberta Building Code and it is the owner's responsibility to insure that it does. 2. All applications must include a site plan indicating the project location in relation to the lot property lines, a copy of the blueprints indicating the appearance of the building when completed. 3. All construction must comply with the yard setbacks as outlined in the By-Law. These setbacks are: Front yard - Minimum 25'. Side yard - Minimum 715 ft; Rear yard - Min­imum 25 ft. Principle building, Minimum 7.5 ft. Accessory building. These standards are to be measured from the outermost wall of the building in­cluding carports and garages. This notice is for basic information only; before any construction commences please contact the Town Office. The Magrath Lions Club held their 52nd Annual District Governor's Night Saturday, May 4th in the Magrath United Church Hall. President John Bourne was Master of Ceremon­ies for the occasion. "0 Canada" was sung accompanied on the piano by Marge Balderson and conducted by Irene Ririe. Grace was offered by Lion Ken Balderson. A delicious roast beef dinner was served by the United Church Women. Zone Chairman Ken Moore of Stirling introduced Lion District 37C District Gov­ernor Ted Sluzer of Lethbridge who gave an interesting and informative talk of "Lion1 ism". Joan Gailing and Tina Gruninger enter­tained during the evening with a program of Country and Western vocal duets. An enjoyable evening was had by all. The Magrath Lions Club is still look­ing for new members and would welcome any interested person to join the Club. Lions "Steer" Tickets will be avail­able shortly.
