Price $18.00-. t i i II Frank Cook say® in March 1903 he gave the business the name of The Magrath Trad­ing Co. Ltd. Frank was manager for two years. During the winter of 1909 part of the directors spent ’the winter in the States. While away Jensdn brothers and Frank, with the consent of two directors of the Company agreed to close at 6 o’clock. The return ef the other shareholders in the spring brought up the question of the early closing agree­ment. Two of the directors said it was a , farmers* store and should stay open even­ings. Frank refused, whereupon it was a matter of buy or sell, Frank sold and sunk $5000,00 in the sheep business. When we entered the business in 1910, G. J. Forsyth, J. F. Bradshaw and J, J. Forsyth were the trio who sollected the bills and extended the credit. Alex Pypey was delivery man; when he quit we took his place. That was twenty eight years ago in June. M bet Gopher Poison. The Magrath team revived the old custom of sucking lemons for refreshment of more vitamins between the quarters. Lemons at one time were used commonly in local loop circles, but they have disappeared entirely from the game of late years. The feature game of the oonsolation bracket was won by the Canadians after a thrilling two extra-period contest with Heber Third Ward, runner-up in the Provo division, 32-30, With ths fans howling for a Magrath vic­tory, Georg© Hamilton came through with a timely shot which tied the score at 28-all just as tho regular playing time ended. In the first extra period, Verd Murdock of Heber rushed through for an easy set-up. The little Canadian crew fought desperately to get down the tying goal but they missed several shots. Then Dale Toomer oc loose with a long one which found the hoop and tied the sounded. After ,returned that the would win the game, surged up and down the flaor"fighting des­perately for the ball, Heber had two fairly easy shots which relied around and off the hoop, Magrath had a shot which just missed. G. ’Huskey Shirt last fall, purchased at the Magrath Trading Co., when his arm was caught in the combine at the Ed. Hocking farm. August says the shirt, according to the doctor, saved his arm. Jensen has just returned from Toronto-, ation of four men from the Cooperative Wool* Jrowers’ waited on the Honorable W, D, Euler Minister of Commerce, regarding the import­ation of Australia and New Zealand lamb. The delegation pointed out to Mr, Euler that the stook men of Canada, the wool growers, were being sacrificed for the benefit of the Eastern manufacturer, especially the auto-mobiJ- e-concerng. He says the Stores in East eFn Canada were flooded with New Zealand and Australia mutton and lamb, while the price in Toronto a year ago on the 29th day of March, 1937, was $10,50 per hundred, in Toronto today it is $9.25; a difference of $1.25. This means the difference between success and failure to the feeders after having fed lanbs alfalfa hay and grain for six months expecting to benefit by the East­ern market and then to find it demoralized by the flood of New Zealand lamb. The prospeots do not look good for the live stock industry; as the flood of cheap meat from these countries also affects the cattle market materially. Mr, Jensen said they pointed out to Mr, Euler that if wool was allowed to come into the country free of duty that some protection should surely be given the wool grower on his lambs. The only duties that have been reduced by the present government have been to the dis­advantage of the producer. Six thousand New Zealand lambs were dumped into Toronto and broke the market.
