On Fri. we squared off against some Doran Perry clones, but unfortunately they took some prozac before the game. Our team was way, way over their heads as D. The Seniors will not be serving any suppers until the New Year. During January, we will have Wednesday suppers on January 7th, 14th and the 21st at 5 p.m. at the Seniors' Centre. Then on Friday, January 30th we will have a Potluck Supper. This will also be the Annual Meeting of the Seniors including reports on the past year and an election for the officers for the next two years. In connection with the election, we will have a secret ballot on whether to allow smoking in the Senior Centre. Come and exercise your franchise. *Memberships, & cleaning fees are now due at $10.00 each for 1997. Bookings for the Senior's Centre should be made through Joe or Lois Czech 758-6308. M. Maxwell started out in goal & the Stingers took awhile to get the kinks out of their legs after the long trip while Pincher Creek scored 3 goals in the 1st period. The fans were beginning to get worried when C. Helgeson woke us all up with the 1st goal, assisted by C. Foggin. & the goals kept coming in a steady stream after that. C. Kenney went into the net for the 2nd & 3rd periods & did a great job of keeping the puck out. D. Millward put the next puck in, assisted by T. Evans & Mitch came on in a blur to score 3 in a row, assisted by M. Helgeson & S. Eyre. T. Hudson had to get into the game by tipping one into the net, assisted by J. Anderson, & Chase H. had another 1 left in him too, assisted by C. Leavitt. Final score, 8-6. We enjoyed our morning in Pincher Creek by watching an exciting game which well made up for the effort in getting there. ****** The Magrath Pee Wee's travelled to Irvine to participate in an eight team tournament this weekend (Dec. 5 & 6). Our 1st game was Sat. at high noon against a Medicine Hat team. Our Bulldogs played very well & came up winners with an 8-5 victory. Our goal getters: B. Walkey 2-3; J. Chipman 2-2; D. Mandel 2-0. C. Ratke 1-2; Assists 1 each-K. Harker, J. Harker, D. Mehew, D. Wetherelt. Penalties: D. Wetherelt 2; A. Ragan 1. MVP: Cody Ririe. Our 2nd game was against Frontier & what a game it was! P. Lee stood on his head in net & played an absolutely fantastic game, stopping 37 of the 40 shots he was peppered with, backstopping the Bulldogs to a 4-3 victory. For his efforts he was awarded not only the win but he was also chosen the MVP. Helping to secure this win was: C. Ratke 2-0; C. Ririe 1-0, D. Mandel 1-0. Assists: J. Chipman 1, D. Jones 1; D. Mehew 2. Penalties: D. Wetherelt 2; C. Ririe 1; J. Chipman 2. These 2 wins put us into the final game on Sun. at 12:30 p.m. against the host team, Irvine Bulldogs. Like the previous 2 games, 3 stop time 15 min periods flew by very quickly. At the end of the 2nd period we were on the short end of a 3-1 score. Early in the 3rd period Irvine made it 4-1 and the clock kept ticking. A very determined young lady stole the puck at the center ice & at the 3:29 min. mark skated full force to the net & found a home for the puck in the net. This proved to be a turning point for us & the team became a team & started to press the opposing Bulldogs.
