The energy transition towards a sustainable energy system is a complex issue that requires a considerable effort by all stakeholders in order to accomplish among other, energy supply security, market and social acceptance, protection of the environment and growing society. This thesis explores the process of decision-making within the Icelandic energy system concerning future sustainable energy development. The research focuses on three aspects related to better understand and analyze the decision-making process: i) identifying all relevant stakeholder groups within the Icelandic energy system and determining their level of influence, ii) identifying stakeholder values regarding sustainable energy development in Iceland, and iii) assigning ...
