The purpose of this paper is to develop a Game-Based Learning (GBL) proposal using the SporeTM videogame as a methodological resource, aimedatthe first year of Compulsory Secondary Education (CSE), to work the content block “Biodiversity on planet Earth” of the subject Biology and Geology. To do it so, first, a bibliographic review of the current theoretical framework is carried out, addressing its main lines of work: GBL, the videogame as a didactic resource, the videogame in the science classroom and the use and viability of the SporeTM videogame itself in education.
