This report is in the nature of a summary statement of the principal characteristics common to zoning laws throughout the state of New Jersey. Since zoning is a dynamic process with amendments, revisions and court decisions constantly effecting the prevailing law, some parts of this study will gradually become out-of-date. It is hoped that this report will aid communities in their constant efforts to improve and protect their growth and development, by furnishing examples of what is standard and accepted practices in the zoning field
