Educa??o escolar e o desenvolvimento de fun??es mentais superiores na crian?a: aten??o volunt?ria

Based on theoretical assumptions of Lev Semenovitch Vygotsky and Alexander Romanovich Luria about the transformation of elementary mental functions on higher mental functions in the historic-genetic path of human development and the scene of symbolic internalization in the brain functioning and constitution of the complex mental activity on a child, this work seeks to identify how the school, when creates new guiding symbolic devices of behavior and thinking of a child, enhances the natural conversion of the attention in voluntary/arbitrary attention. Based on epistemological assumptions that culture provides artificial mechanisms (symbolic) that reorganize the neurophysiological processes of the central nervous system of the child, causing her to develop arbitrary, intentional and planned behaviors and that school education (sociocultural practice) has a central goal in converting reflexes and involuntary behaviors in conscious behaviors and volunteers, due to the substantial change in the relationship between brain and activity regulation in the reason of the use of symbolic devices, we try to capture, in the dialectical movement and semiotic of teaching and school learning, there are indications that allow us to infer that the mental mechanisms of natural attention (unintentional and non-volitional) are becoming/converting voluntary attention/arbitrary because of the action of symbolic systems, artificial mechanisms (signs) in the child's brain function. For this, delimited to the hypothesis of this study that these cultural encourages reorganize the cognitive processes of a child, giving rise to organized behavior, intentional, conscious, self-regulated and volitional. From an investigation on first level class of elementary education at a public state school, located in Chapec?-SC was found empirically that indeed, this hypothesis is confirmed because the evidence obtained showed that the use of signs reorganizes and complicates the thought and the child's, behavior making them regulated and volitional. This process of activity constitution mediated in the classroom showed that using artificial/cultural devices to perform schoolwork, the child develops a superior set of mental functions in coordination, among them, the voluntary attention. Conclude that school education, by providing mediators elements that should be incorporated into the intellectual activity of the child, increases their attention span, enabling it to have greater volitional control of their own mental activity. When working with complex artificial devices (cultural), the school develops a social practice that requires children to develop entirely new and complex mental processes. Fundamentando-se nas premissas epistemol?gicas de que a cultura fornece mecanismos artificiais (simb?licos) que reorganizam os processos neurofisiol?gicos do sistema nervoso central da crian?a, fazendo com que ela desenvolva comportamentos arbitr?rios, intencionais e planejados e de que a educa??o escolar (pr?tica sociocultural) possui um papel central na convers?o de comportamentos reflexos e involunt?rios em comportamentos conscientes e volunt?rios, devido ? modifica??o substancial da rela??o entre c?rebro e regula??o da atividade em decorr?ncia da utiliza??o de dispositivos simb?licos, procura-se captar, no movimento dial?tico e semi?tico do ensino e aprendizagem escolar, a exist?ncia de ind?cios que possibilitem inferir que os mecanismos mentais de aten??o natural (n?o intencional e n?o volitiva) est?o se transformando/convertendo-se em aten??o volunt?ria/arbitr?ria devido ? a??o de sistemas simb?licos, de mecanismos artificiais (signos) no funcionamento cerebral da crian?a. Para isso, delimitou-se como hip?tese desta investiga??o que esses est?mulos culturais reorganizam os processos cognitivos da crian?a, dando origem a comportamentos organizados, intencionais, conscientes, autorregulados e volitivos. A partir de uma investiga??o realizada numa turma de 1? ano do ensino fundamental de uma escola p?blica estadual, localizada no munic?pio de Chapec?-SC, constatou-se empiricamente que, de fato, tal hip?tese se confirma, pois os ind?cios captados revelaram que o uso de signos reorganiza e complexifica o pensamento e comportamento da crian?a, tornando-os regulados e volitivos. Este processo de constitui??o da atividade mediada na sala de aula evidenciou que ao utilizar dispositivos artificiais/culturais para executar tarefas escolares, a crian?a desenvolve um conjunto de fun??es mentais superiores de forma articulada, dentre elas, a aten??o volunt?ria. Conclui-se que a educa??o escolar, ao fornecer elementos mediadores que devem ser incorporados ? atividade intelectual da crian?a, amplia sua capacidade de aten??o, possibilitando a ela ter maior controle volitivo da sua pr?pria atividade mental. Ao trabalhar com complexos dispositivos artificiais (culturais), a escola desenvolve uma pr?tica social que requer das crian?as o desenvolvimento de processos mentais inteiramente novos e complexos. Portanto, verificou-se que a aten??o volunt?ria n?o ? de origem biol?gica, mas, um ato social mediado culturalmente pela educa??o escolar
