Les livres de secrets imprimés et traduits en Europe : la circulation des secrets italiens entre 1555 et 1650

International audienceThis article aims to draw an overview of the translations of Italian books of secrets in many languages (vernaculars and Latin), having as its starting point the works written by “professors of secrets” that had a considerable circulation between the 16th and 17th centuries. Our objective is to get a better understanding of the editorial phenomenon of books of secrets based on different translations both between vernaculars and between Italian and Latin, as well as to analyse the role of many agents in the production, translation, correction and selling of secrets, such as the “professors of secrets” and their translators.Cet article essaie de tracer un panorama des traductions de livres de secrets italiens en plusieurs langues (vernaculaires et latin), à partir des ouvrages écrits par les « professeurs de secrets » qui ont atteint une circulation importante entre le xvie et le xviie siècle. Notre but est de mieux comprendre le phénomène éditorial des livres de secrets à partir de diverses traductions entre des langues vernaculaires et le latin, ainsi que d’analyser le rôle de plusieurs agents dans la production, traduction, correction et vente des secrets, comme les « professeurs de secrets » et leurs traducteurs
