International audienceIn this paper, the analysis of occurrence-relations between prepositions and (the prepositional use of) subordinating conjunctions shares apparent similarities and independent features. We first examine distributional similarities in both cases about French nominal phrases and Spanish (or Portuguese) pronominal phrases. <br />However, restrictions on adverbial phrase distribution differentiate prepositions from the prepositional use of conjunctions. Furthermore, formal description of prepositional use of conjunctions points to some restrictions in the selection of nouns or determiners, in contrast with prepositions.
