This field survey was commissioned by The ASH Consulting Group, acting as consultants to Kirkpatrick and Partners, Consulting Engineers to the Department of Transport Eastern Region. The project consists of an initial, rapid fieldwalking survey of the archaeology of an irregular route corridor approximately 2 kilometres wide extending from the A605/Fletton Parkway junction (Peterborough) northwest to Stamford, a distance of 23 kilometres. This route corridor was the subject of a desk-based study (Wait 1992).
