***. — 10th Report on the demographic situation in France. In 1980, fertility in France has somewhat increased although its value is below replacement level. Mortality keeps constant, with a high male excess mortality. Infant mortality, now below 10 p. 1000, is among the lowest in the world. Nuptiality keeps decreasing while divorce is on the upgrade. Abortions are undoubtedly underregistered and it is impossible to assess whether their number has really increased or not. The balance of international migration is close to zero and the population of France increased by 250,000 in 1980 because of the excess of births over deaths.
