Introduction: The exercise of teaching demands the specific training of the teacher and the constant changes that have taken place in the field of knowledge in recent years denotes the lack of preparation in pedagogical issues and in the training of health professionals required by the education system. Objective: to analyze in the Brazilian literature the approach of teaching practices and knowledge of higher education professors in health courses.
