Decapoda represents one of the most diverse invertebrate groups on this planet. With a global distribution in almost all kinds of aquatic habitats and in some terrestrial habitats, decapods play essential roles in various ecosystems. Besides, many decapod species are of economic importance in fisheries and aquaculture, particularly in many developing countries.
