The use of terms in several branches of activities and their inclusion in special branch dictionaries is attracting attention of terminologists and branch experts but the matter of location of applied terms in common language dictionaries is not less important: term selection, choice of references, addition of synonyms etc. From this viewpoint, valuable material has been presented in bilingual dictionaries. The totality of Latvian and Lithuanian terms to be used in spheres of social life, especially in applied communication, has been examined under contrastive aspect.
