Lilly's history of seeking treatments for infectious diseases resulted in products that targeted respiratory, soft-tissue, urinary tract infections, tuberculosis and bacterial meningitis. Other discoveries included an aminoglycoside effective against staphylococci and gram-negative bacterial infections, a new class of beta-lactam antibiotics to treat gram-positive and gram-negative organisms, and a treatment for life-threatening sepsis in adult patients.Use of this image is restricted to projects related to Destination Indiana.
