The EURAD model system for the simulation of air pollutants transport and transformation has been improved, further developed and applied to various episodes of air pollution. EURAD (European Acid Deposition Model) is a contribution to the European environmental project EUROTRAC. The original version of EURAD consisting of a meteorological and chemical transport model has been completed by the EURAD Emission Model (EEM). Process studies were carried out to investigate the role of surface albedo for photochemistry, the aerosols, heterogeneous reactions and biogenic emissions. Studies regarding the photochemical ozone creation potential of selected VOCs and nitrogen deposition to the North Sea were also conducted. The model system was applied...
