- 2 - 242* LIBRARY HOURS s Upon the recommendation of Dr, Smith, it was voted to experiment with keeping the library open three evenings a week 7-9. The Periodical-reference room will he used, and a scholarship student will he in charge. The fact of the library being open will be advertised to Hostel Students who are in Senior College; day students may receive special permission. It is not expected that co-eds will be given permission to use the library in the evening. 243* NAPOLEON’S EGYPT: The Librarian reported that a special cupboard had been built for shelving the set of Napoleon’s Egypt. The committee voted that a good binder should be asked to come to inspect the set in order to make recommendations about what should be done to preserve it in best form. 244. RESERVE FUND; The Committee voted to buy from the Reserve Fund such books as are still available at the Thoth Bookshop and as have been designated as desirable by departments; also to procure the set by Hautecoeur and Geston Les Mosqu6es du Cairo recommended by Dr. Adams. Otherwise the Committee considers it unwise at this time to order books from abroad against the reserve fund beoause of the excessive cost of postage and insurance. 245. APPROPRIATIONS FOR 1941-42; The following schedule of appropriations was adopted for the current year. It is not possible at the present time to state whether departments have exceeded their allowances for last year or not because bills have been slow in reaching us. Departments?
