The extra sets oi sueives which the committee woted to have made were installed at the beginning ox the year ana all Arabic Docks transferred to the new section that was thereby made possible in the wing formerly used ior cataloging# Other oooks were accordingxy rearranged ana numbers put at the ends of tne cases as guides to those entering tne stacks# The room formerly Known as 105 was taken over, with tne permission of the Property Committee, and equipped as cataloging room. By assembling the tables, catalogs, supplies, ana other paraphernalia necessary for the making of the catalog ana caring for the routine of the library in one room, we have made a real advance in the development of our equipment. A pictorial roller chart, showing parallel developments in history -a gift from Dr. Watson - was installed in the main reading-room; likewise a chart of Arabic literature was hung for ready reference by students. Books were ordered last summer on the McKinney Fund and on the remainder of the Carnegie Fund# This wes the first time since 1932 that it had been possible to use the McKinney Fund for book orders. The procedure adopted in other years was followed in ordering books : viz, chairmen of various departments were assigned a portion of* the whole sum available and were asked to submit a list of books desired. Generous gifts of books were received from Mrs, McQuiston and Mr# Gibbons.- • tv The circulation report, suomittedfkemal Effendi is as follows.
