MINUTES OF COUNCIL May 27, 1955. 1379- 1380- 1081. PRESENT Dr. Watson (in Chair) Dr. McClenahan, Messrs Cleland, Salt, Parker, Howard, Jeffery (secretary). Dr. Watson opened with prayer. MINUTES Minutes of meetings of March IS, April 15 and 26 were typed as approved. FINANCE COMMITTEE - Secretary of Finance Committee presented Minutes of meetings of March 25, April 22 and 26 reporting the transaction of routine business. Also Minutes of May 15 presenting amended budget of : Total Income in Egypt Regular budget from U-S.A. Presidents budget (U.S.A.) Special #3000 Budget Total income £ 5470.000 10000.000 1679.850 822.000 •£ 17971.850 Total Expense Budget (Egypt)... .£ 17971.850 which was approved and recommending : 5359 Arrangement for Mr. Warner’s freight* 5361 Adjustment between S.0.S* and Extension Dept, of budget for Deanfs office help for current year-. 5362 Rearrangements as to scholarships allowed in the College. These recommendations were approved. Also Minutes of May 16 recommending : 5367 Committee on finishing up minor items of furnishin in the new S.0.S* building. 5368 Charging againstt he S.0.S* dedication budget the Nash charge for December. 5370 A basis for exchange rates in the case of personal accounts overdrawn in U.S*A* 5371 Fixing of dates between which members of staff on furlough may draw salary in dollars. These recommendations were approved. Also Minutes of May 25 recommending : 537 5 Certain budget balances to be carried forward to next year. 5381 Mr. Galt’s salary for last September to be considered as payable in dollars. These recommendations were approved
