Board ot Trustees -4- March 4, 1988 4. Nominating Committee: Mr. Crary. Mr. Crary reported that the Nominating Committee had recommended that the terms of 12 Trustees be renewed. They are as follows: Kamal Adham Euan Baird Paul Hannon John Harbert Ahmed Hilal Yousef Jameel Frank Jungers Mostafa Khalil Weldon Kruger Walter Mac Donald W. Kelly Simpson Roger Tamraz Louise Van Vleck R. Bayly Winder Mr. Hedlund noted that there was some question in the case of Yousef Jameel since he has indicated that he wishes to spend more time on his affairs. Mr. Hedlund agreed to talk with him about this and action in his case was tabled pending a report from the Chairman. It was moved and seconded that the other recommendations be accepted. The motion was approved. The Nominating Committee also recommended that the current slate of officers be renewed: Charles J. Hedlund John J. Kelberer W. Kelly Simpson Lee Driscoll Miner D. Crary Thomas A. Lamont Chairman Vice Chairman Vice Chairman Treasurer Recording Secretary Executive Secretary It was moved and seconded that these recommendations be accepted. The motion was approved. Mr. Crary advised the Trustees that Dr. Frank E. Vandiver had accepted the invitation to join the Board. Mr. Hedlund observed that the Board should seek to identify some younger trustee candidates and some additional Arabs from the Middle East. He urged Trustees to advise Dr. Bartlett should they have any candidates to recommend. 5. Report of the Academic & Research Committee: Dr. Reed. Tenure Cases - Dr. Reed reported that the Academic & Research Committee had reviewed the tenure requests for Dr. Samir Yousef and Dr. Hosny EI-Lakany and recommended them to the Board for approva
