Crary, Devine (Chairman), Hannon, Hedlund, Stone; also attending: President Pedersen, Messrs. Van Vleck and O'Connor. 1. New Chairman - Mr. Devine announced that he is stepping down as Chairman of the Deve­lopment Committee and that Mr. Jungers has agreed to replace him. There was a formal vote of thanks to Mr. Devine for his leadership ~nd he was urged to remain active as a member of the Committee, to which he agreed. 2. New York Office Development Staffing - Mr. Devine reviewed the recent history of the development efforts in the New York Office and noted that our experience with a high-paid, professional fund raiser had not been particularly satisfactory due to the atypical nature of AUC which does not lend itself to traditional fund raising techniques. He noted that the present Development Officer, Mary Sellner, will be leaving shortly. It was the consensus that she should be replaced with a somewhat more experienced person and that a secretary would probably have to be added. It was agreed that we should not attempt to retain any professional fund raising firm that works on commission. These conclusions are subject to further dis­cussion between President Pedersen, the new Development Committee Chairman, Mr. Jungers, and the Executive Secretary
