The costs of these arrangements, based on contracts, confirmed reservations and estimates, is as follows: a) Hotels, transfers to and from Airport, sightseeing, etc. LE. 9,600.- * b) Egypt Air charter flights Cairo/Aswan/Abu Simbel/Aswan and Luxor/Cairo LE. 3,000.- c) Isis Boat 'charter LE. 6,000.- LE.IB,600.- _ca:a:aaaa=aa_ We are estimating a total number of 60 participants, including Trustees, spouses and Trustee guests. On this basis, we estimate (very roughly at this stage) LE.620 per participant •. At the exchanee rate applicable for University transactions (PT.43 • $1), this amounts to $1,441.86 per person; but at the current tourist rate of exchange (PT.65 a $1), this amounts to $953.85 per person. (30 places on the boat are being held here for a few University staff, tour guides, Egyptian Government Officials, 'etc.) To this must be added, of course, the costs of air transportation from the United States to Cairo. Current roundtrip air fares New York/Cairo/New York are LE.390 or $885 per person economy, and LE.650 or $1500 per person first class.
