A center for the progran in arts. A new fourth floor can be built on top of the structure ~ow fron ting on Shari ~heikh Rihan (the south side of the ca:!lpU3). This floor would provide space and equipment far the totA arts program of the University, as it develops. It would include: four sound-proofed instrument practice rooms ~o studio-elass "rooms for music one studio for sculpture one double studio for painting and drawing one double studio for ceramic! two faeulty office-studios one recording room one listening rOOD one large well lighted space to be used variously as an assembly hall seating 100, a danee studio, and as an exhibi tion hall­storage and equipment rooms 3. 11. '. new clAss-room building. Eventually (probably not until the school-year 1955-66) a new class-room building will be needed, as staff and academic offerings are increased conside~bly beyond the present point. This building can be simple in construction, requiring little if anything in the way of special equipment, and can be used by all units of the University for non-specialized instruction. The building could be placed along the rear wall of the OaInpu:e, roughly taking the area now oceupied by the ceramics studio, the researoh projeot in folk-lore, the kitchen, and the general servants .quarters. It could be four stories high, and oontain faoulty offices as well as class-rooms. B. Reconstruction, for administration center- It is proposed, after the student serviees eenter is oompleted, that the front portion of the main center building be r s conet~c~~d for administrative use.
