The paper was accepted and approved with the following action on section 2-c listing need for painting, lighting, rewiring in classrooms and offices, THAT a total of *12,000 be made available for this program to be charged as suggested in the paper; if this amount is not sufficient , the administration is authorized to use its judgment as to the spending for individual items. 799 The President reported Dr. Joseph Van Vleck's generous gift GIFT OF CAR of a car to the University. The car will be sold, credited to Dr. Van Vleok, and the proceeds applied to the current budget. 801 RESIGNATIO:i OF The Chairman reported the resignation of Mr. Samuel Thorne SAMUEL THORNE FROM who has served as a trustee since 1319. Tie following was BOARD OF TRUSTEES voted THAT the resignation of Samuel Thorne from the Board of Trustees be accepted with great regret, and THAT Mr. Thorne be elected Honorary Life Trustee and us such be invited to all meetings of the Board. 802 ELECTION OF TRUSTEES In the absence of Mr. Thorne, the Chairman of the Board presented the following trustees whose terms of servioe expire with this meeting.
