• 8 r -9 - School of Oriental Studies This year was outstanding in the history of the School of Oriental Studies, marking not only an amplified program but also the beginning of a more pro-fessional development long desired. The addition of two well-qualified Re-search scholars (Drs. Schoonover and Abdel Malek) gave the sohool both reputation and needed soholarly resources. As aoting administrator, IIr. Book brought im-agination and enthusiasm to his tasks, and revised the admistrative procedures for more efficiency and effectiveness.
