WHEREAS members of the permanent staff in Egypt are finding it necessary to make current disbursements in America in excess of the 20% of the salary limit now fixed by Trustees' regulations, and whereawttie rate of exchange at present is so very high and they are already heavily burdened. THAT the Trustees suspend until the end of the present war emergency, the rule limiting payments in America to 2Ú4 of the salary, and allow all bona fide payments for current disbursements in America up to the limit of tale annual salary at the rate of 45.O0 to the Egyptian pound. 7. THAT a payment of 425.00 be made to Mr. F. K. MacRae for his services in visiting the farm property in Canada belonging to the American University at Cairo and for acting as the University's agent. $. THAT the University will pay for 1941-42 and 1942-43 50ió of the Egyptian income tax and 50`r of the Philadelphia wage tax on the salary of American members of tie permanent staff, including Mr. Nichols, and the regularly appointed short term instructors. Any individual whose classification is not clear should be determined by the Council in Egypt. 9. THAT the Council in Egypt be given power tu continue for the calendar years 1942 and 1943 a "cost of living bonus" to the employees of the University in Egypt, the amount of the bonus to be determined by the Council every six months for tale following six months, period. Badeau shall be considered as having started his third term as a member of the staff of the American University at Cairo on July 1, 1942. THAT Harlan D.
