4. The principal items of interest in the Minutes of the Council in Egypt for 1928-29 are as follows: (1) Dr. Watson represented the University on the Egypt Inter- Mission Council. (2) The following special gifts were received in Egypt: From Mr. and Mrs. Rufus G. Mather of New York City, ?k1,000 to the Extension Division to be used in the "Save the E'es" Campaign. From Mrs. Pardee Erdman, 1500 for Library Equipment. (3) The Council studied the problem of reducing the adminis-trative cost of the University and took steps to reduce this wherever possible.
