There were 19 students enrolled in the 3rd year of the Government Section and 26 in the 4th year of the Government Section. During the year 22 students were asked to withdraw from the College because of continued inferior work, unwhole-some influence or for other matters of discipline. Nineteen students withdrew for various reasons of their own accord. This leaves 143 students who were in attendance at the end of the College year. It is a matter of real concern to note a tendenc:- for enrol-ment in the College from other than Egyptian corn unities. These are Armenians, Syrians and an occasional European. It has been noted also that these non- Egyptian students have tended to take the first place in classes and in general student activities owing to facilities for discovering various values through their own homes and previous contacts, resulting in ideals which must be created for our EgyYptinn students. In various contests of a literary, dramatic or other nature, the non-Egyptian student has shown his superiority more than once. Of course, there is little response to Extra-Curricular activities from the studenthose minds are wholly set for a Government certificate. It is certainly the duty of our whole ad-ministration and staff to seek to build up a much larger distinctly Egyptian student body if we are to keep in mind the original objectives of the College as contributing toward the influencing of the Egyptian and the Mohammedan world. The non-Egyptian is very little interested in such matters. The students, generally speaking, have shown a much better appreciation than formerly of those things for which the College stands. I refer to thoroughness of class worn, general standards of conduct and self-government and the participation in what would create a stronger man-hood. During the year, on the suggestion of the Fti culty , a Student Senate was organized of nine members elected by the upper clansmen and having as its objective and creation and maintenance of the best ideals on the part of the students and to act as a medium between the Administration and the student body. This experiment promises to be very profitable in many ways and it is to be much encouraged. The Senate repeatedly, although it was just beginning to function, took hold of questions of real importance in the guidance of the student body and did effective wervice.
