96 SIXTH: The number of Trustees for the first year shall be fifteen, their names are: Harlan Page Beach, William Isaac Chamberlain, William Henry Steele Demarest, Ralph Warner Harbison, William Bancroft Hill, George Innes, Melvin Grove Kyle, James Henry Lockhart, John Knox Mc- Clurkin, Eben Erskine Olcott, George Milliken Paden, George Living-song Robinson, Fred Omer Shane, Henry Cantwell Wallace, Charles Roger Watson. The said trustees may enlarge their number to twenty-one, of whom the persons named shall at the first constitute the Board of Trustees of said University, to hold in the order of their naming, the first named five shall hold office until November first, 1919, the second na„ied five until November first, 1920, and the last named five until November first, 1921. The election of additional trustees up to a total of twnety-one shall be made by the Board itself, two to hold office until November first, 1920, two until November first, 1921, and two until November first, 1922, and thereafter the success-ors of the Trustees whose terms of office expire on the dates named, shall be elected by the Board of Trustees, provided, however, that before such election not less than eleven, nor more than fourteen of the total number shall be persons, some of them approved by the Board of Foreign Missions of the United Presbyterian Church of North America, and others approved by the Board of Foreign Missions of the Reformed Church of America. It is further provided that upon the then affiliated bodies, and given authority to approve of the election of trustees, the number and all particulars of representation of all bodies then or thereafter to become affiliated to be determined by a vote of the then affiliated missionary bodies and the Board of Trustees, provided, however, that at no time the total number of Trustee's who must be approved by the several affiliated boards before the election of such Trustees, shall be less than eleven nor more. than fourteen. The Board of Trustees shall adopt By-Laws, and, with the approval of the then affiliated bodies, shall have the right to increase the number of its Trustees beyond twenty-one. The University shall re-port annually upon its activities to the affiliated missionary bodies and these bodies shall have the right to communicate their judgment and wishes to the University for its consideration.
