The bar pinches down to a narrow bench between the cliff and the river at mile 55.7 and from that point to the mouth of Rock Creek there is a gentle slope of sand and talus between the cliff and the river. At mile 55.7 there are the remains of a fence and a gate by which it is presumed the entire bar upstream could be controlled. A crude trail about 30 ft. long has been worked in the steep sandstone just below the fence. On a stone by the gate this appears: AUG 1932 WALTER ALLEN and on the cliff wall nearby this appears: WA 1932. Wildhorse Bar undoubtedly is the uppermost bar on the right bank in Glen Canyon which can be reached easily from the open country above.
