Valbuena Prat coined the term “generación de 1927”, which he included for the first time in his Historia de la literatura española, in the edition of 1957. Due to the fact of him being the first one to study the poets of his generation, in his book La poesía española contemporánea (1930), much of criticism and literary references to the poetic production of his contemporaries has been very much used by later critics.
