Ángel Valbuena: la renovacion de la historiografía literaria española

This paper questions in the first part the difficulties inherent to the construction of any Literary History. Also it studies especially the singularity of the Spanish case, derived from the somewhat late character of the Spanish Literary Histories of the 19th century and from the fact of having been posterior to some foreign, which set the models to follow. It also studies in the second part the contributions of the Historia de la literatura española by Á.Valbuena Prat, in its first edition, in 1932, so much for the construction of a different style, whose main features are analyzed, as for the attention paid to the contemporary authors, so that this work by Valbuena has been decisive in the configuration of the Spanish literary canon.Este artículo plantea en su primera parte las dificultades inherentes a la construcción de toda historia literaria, y estudia especialmente la singularidad del caso español, derivada del carácter algo tardío de las Historias literarias españolas del XIX y de haber sido posteriores a algunas extranjeras, que marcaron los modelos a seguir. Luego estudia en su segunda parte las aportaciones de la Historia de la literatura española de A. Valbuena Prat, en su edición primera, de 1932, tanto por la construcción de un estilo diferente, cuyos principales rasgos se analizan, como por la atención concedida a los autores contemporáneos, de forma que esta obra de Valbuena ha sido decisiva en la configuración del canon literario hispánico
