This research focuses on metacognition in the learning of reading comprehension. Metacognition is a reflection on cognition itself and allows both the learner to acquire knowledge about his cognitive functioning and to regulate his cognitive activity. Metacognitive skills are increasingly emphasized in the teaching of reading comprehension. The various researches recommend the establishment of metacognitive reflections with the students by teaching them the strategies of comprehension in an explicit way.
