Tuesday's flood of the lowlands around the S Pennsylvania bridge over the North Canadian river is one of the strongest arguments for a quick competion of the Oklahoma City floodway project, Morrison B. Cunningham, assistant city manager is charge of publi8c works, pointed out Thursday. The peak load carried by the rier - and spilling over into sections of Community camp - was 8,000 cubic feet of water per second. The floodway, where competed, is built to carry more than five times that amount without causing anyone to worry. The rated capacity of the floodway is 45,000 cubic feet a second. Bottleneck left Cunningham said the river at S Pennsylvania "has always been a bottleneck in the river." It still is, but the bottleneck is scheduled for removal in the next phase flood way work.
