Seth Wood, superintedent on the job for Boecking Construction Co., said spring downpours kept work shut down too long to permit completion thos autumn as scheduled. Heaviest work at the present is concentrated on the upper end of the creek, from N pennsylvania westward. A complete new channel for the stream is to be dug, although in certain localities it will follow the general bed of the creek......Similarly, there has been little complaint about a portion of the work that has closed Pennsylvania for a several-block stretch north of the U. S. 66 bypass...Wood said workmen have encountered many obstacles, not countered on when Boecking bid on the contract. For instance, he pointed out, the water table rose three to four feet, although it has lowered somewhat recently. Excavation that will widen and straighten the creek eventually will extend all the way from Belle Isle lake, belonging to Oklahoma Gas & Electric Co., to near NW 42 and Altadena. Workmen are scooping out a wider, strighter channel for Deep Fork. This work is west of N Pennsylvania.
