The main target of the following Bachelor's thesis is to point out facts which are related to the international business of coffee in connection with the fair trade movement. The first chapter is designed to introduce the fair trade movement and its history (development). The forms of fair trade are outlined briefly. The second chapter deals with coffee as an exporting material. Then are introduced standards for coffee as a fair trade product. These are closely connected to explaining the barriers on entering the coffee market. The last chapter compares Brasil and Costa Rica from the point of view of economic indexes.
