On étudie le processus de création directe de molécules excitoniques dans CuCl. La transition s'effectue par absorption simultanée de 2 photons fournis par un laser à colorant. L'énergie de chaque photon est inférieure à toute transition électronique du milieu. Du spectre d'absorption non linéaire on déduit une valeur précise de l'énergie de liaison de la molécule excitonique. On montre que la section efficace de transition à deux photons est extrêmement importante, en accord avec les calculs d'Hanamura.The direct creation of excitonic molecules is observed in CuCl.
