These items are images from digital and paper sources that were gathered for the Toledo Women Lawyers History Project (TWLHP). The material in this folder focuses on the career of Florence Hartman Wells (1901-1963). While serving as the first woman deputy clerk of the Toledo Municipal Court, she received her bachelor of law degree from the Univesity of Toledo in 1923. She progressed to be the first woman in Ohio to be elected to both branches of the Ohio Legislature: the House in 1924; the Senate in 1927.
