Brian Hamel, president of Loring Development Authority, is charged with finding appropriate commercial tenants for the former Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, which was closed by the U.S. Air Force in 1994. The base property, now known as the Loring Commerce Center, currently hosts 18 private sector businesses employing 900 people, en route to a goal of 3,000 jobs, which would be about 60 percent of the total the Air Force took with it. Hamel says he is also negotiating with three aviation operations. With details about several of the businesses and Hamel\u27s hopes for the future.
