Ti ' IL was a typical cold and windy day January 29, 1992 that Alberta Meldrum McClain was laid to her final resting place beside her husband of 56 years, Lawrence Clement McClain at the Magrath Cemetery. The chapel was filled to capacity with family & friends who were their to pay their final respects to a truly great lady. ' "Berta” as she was lovingly called all of her life was born July 31, 1907 in Magrath to James Arthur Meldrum & his wife Beatrice (Bessie) Maylan Meldrum. She passed away January 25, 1992 at the Magrath Hospital. , , She was very active in both church & community affairs; working at the hospital lor 33 years. She deeply loved this southern alberta town and all who were born or lived here. Family prayer was offered by Lloyd Meldrum. Chorister: Jean Wheeler Organist: Vinessa Hamilton Ushers: Roy Toomer and DeVar Coleman Memorial Book: Dianne McClain, Ellie Heigerson, Sue Mikado and Marilyn Neilson Bishop Ricks Smith was in charge of the funeral service. The ward choir rendered several very beautiful musical selections which were Mothers favourites; "Guide Me To Thee”, "I Need Thee Every Hour”. Eldon Coleman offered the opening prayer. Ruth Ririe Rice who had been a neighbour to the family for many years and in later years Relief Society Visiting Teacher: "A Tribute to Mother”. Gerry Leishman a co - worker of Mothers at the Hopital for many years gave the Biography of Mother. Bishop Smith offered closing remarks followed by a beautiful rendition of the 23rd Psalm by L.
